I am excited to share the beautiful photos of our fun couple, Kathy and Mike. Their fall wedding was rich in oranges, browns and yellows. We loved the unique flower choices, interesting details, and the candle light that created a very romantic atmosphere. What a great evening with close friends talking, dancing and celebrating! Congratulations Kathy and Mike!

The wedding of Hollis and Wyatt took place at the historic First Baptist church in downtown Raleigh. You will see that the church played a central role in the wedding of Hollis and Wyatt because it is so important in their lives and in their courtship. Hollis grew up her whole life attending this church. She made such good, lifelong friends in her youth group, that all of the bridesmaids grew up going to church together. They have all been bridesmaids in each others' weddings! Hollis even met her husband through attending church at First Baptist. Wyatt started attending when he came to college in Raleigh. He met Hollis and ended up proposing to her on the front of the church steps! Hollis and Wyatt had the largest group of guests that I think we have ever photographed at a wedding. I think the number was close to 400. It was a very big party held at the State Club on the campus of North Carolina State University. It was truly amazing to see all of the love and support this couple had as they start their new lives together! Congratulations Hollis and Wyatt!

This past fall, I had the opportunity to shoot a feature for the Weddings Magazine in Raleigh. The feature was a rehearsal dinner staged at the 1705 Prime Catering and Events restaurant. The lovely table was decorated beautifully in pinks, and deep red colors with a gorgeous platinum and black table linen by Classic Party Rentals. I loved the modern submerged arrangements artfully designed by Michael with Fleurtations Weddings.
The very cool and modern cake was by Swank Cake Designs and the seating chart, table numbers and favors were provided by Maria Scheel. I think have a harpist at any event just makes the atmosphere elegant. The harpist is the very talented Laura Byrne and the whole look was orchestrated by Kara with A Southern Soirre. It was such a fun experience to see the work of so many amazing people. Here are a few of my favorites and then you will see how it all turned out in the actual magazine spread!
Here are few rare shots of me 'in action' taken by my assistant Jill. Usually at weddings we are working so fast that it is almost impossible to think of taking an action shot, but on a shoot like this we are able to take it a little easier and enjoy the creative process!

Laura has a contagious laugh and everyone is instantly drawn to her. I'm sure that was one of the first things Jason noticed when they met and fell in love. Laura and Jason were married in 'epic' style at the stunning and magnificent, Duke Chapel, on the Duke University Campus in Durham, North Carolina. Getting married at the chapel is quite an experience. The bride walks down the longest aisle I've ever seen to the loudest organ music- it really is an entrance fit for a queen! Just what every girl deserves on her wedding day! The beautiful flowers were designed by the talented ladies at Floral Dimensions. We especially loved the halo of flowers for the flower girl's hair and the little pomanders for the children to carry down the aisle. So cute!

Seriously, he rocked it! It was incredible! We loved being able to document this beautiful day for Laura and Jason! Congratulations!

Now that our lovely bride, Julia, is married, I would like to share a few of her beautiful bridal portraits. We took her photos at Historic Oak View Park in Raleigh. It is a restored antebellum farmhouse. It was a great day, and we love the way we were able to catch the gorgeous light coming through her veil! A photographer's dream!

The latest issue of Southern Bride and Groom has been released and we are especially excited because our photo is featured on the cover! Our 'cover couple', Jonay and David, were married on the 4th of July at the Carolina Inn. We had the chance to celebrate the magazine launch at the Southern Bride and Groom Spring Luncheon on April 2nd, 2009 at Sister's Garden in Raleigh. What a beautiful party! Loved the colors! I had fun taking a few shots of the cute bouquets on the tables, adorable cupcakes, and the lovely ladies of Southern Bride magazine. Thanks again Donna for selecting our photo!

I decided it would be fun to feature each couple's beautiful album as I receive them. Untold hours go into the creation of these beautiful books, so I have to show some of the highlights. This album is for Jennifer and JT. They chose a new acrylic cover that is really fantastic. I think it is my new favorite! Take a look!
Of course, my cat, Cinnamon took full advantage of the beautiful material laying on the floor after I was done taking the photos. I took her photo, and then I told her she would have to find a new place to rest!

Meredith and Anthony were married on November 15th, 2008 at the Cary Wedding Chapel and Gardens and then had a spectacular reception at the Prestonwood Country Club. We had such a great time photographing their wedding- Meredith and Anthony have the prettiest and funnest friends! I know that's not a real word- but it just describes the great time everyone had at this wedding. You will see the evidence in the cool dancing photos. We used the balcony at Prestonwood to our full advantage by taking paparazzi style shots of the party- very cool! The amazing arrangements and decor were designed by the fabulous, Lyn of Fresh Affairs. Very unique and perfect for the grandeur of Prestonwood! Overall, a perfect wedding! Congratulations Meredith and Anthony!
